About the Event
"You’ll never snorkel the same way again after you discover how fear is the engine for life on a coral reef. New research is showing how predators aren’t just a danger to their prey, they’re an essential piece of the puzzle of how reef environments thrive." Dr Emily Lester is a marine scientist interested in sharks, predator-prey interactions, and the effect of human activities on marine ecosystems. Her research focuses on the impacts of predator removal on ecosystems. Lester aims to produce science of the highest calibre to influence decision-makers to implement policy to improve the health of our oceans.
